Overview:
This year, Blessed to Bless Life Ministries joins the people of Uganda in celebrating the nation’s Independence Day with deep gratitude and joy. As a refugee-led organization serving children, youth, and families in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, we take this opportunity to honor the peace, safety, and opportunities Uganda has generously offered to refugees from different countries.
Our celebration will bring together children, youth, and community members from various nationalities to reflect on freedom, unity, and hope — values that define Uganda’s spirit and the mission of Blessed to Bless Life Ministries.
Planned Activities:
- 🎶 Opening Songs and National Anthem led by refugee children’s choir
- 🎤 Poetry Performance: “Grateful Hearts Under One Flag” by a Congolese refugee child
- 🗣️ Debate Session: “Can Refugees Truly Find Independence in a Foreign Land?” – presented by refugee students from different backgrounds
- 🎭 Accrobatics: themed “Unity Beyond Borders”
- 🌳 Tree Planting for Peace: planting fruit and shade trees as a symbol of sustainability and growth
- 💚 Fundraising Moment: to support ongoing BBLM programs that empower refugee children and youth
- 🕊️ Closing Prayer and Thanksgiving: appreciating Uganda’s hospitality and peace
Purpose of the Event:
The celebration aims to:
- Appreciate Uganda for its generosity toward refugees.
- Promote unity among refugees and host communities.
- Encourage creativity and confidence among refugee children and youth.
- Reflect on the true meaning of independence — freedom, love, and togetherness.
